HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brian Smith (R-Jefferson/Indiana) announced the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has awarded more than $104,000 to organizations in the 66th Legislative District for recreation and conservation projects. The funding comes from DCNR’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
DCNR awarded Big Run Borough $65,000 to make upgrades to Big Run Borough Veteran’s Park. Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club received $39,400 to construct and maintain roughly 200 miles of trails throughout six counties including Jefferson County.
“The projects chosen to receive funding are a great representation of some of our district’s greatest assets,” Smith said. “Our veterans and our extensive trail network both deserve to be celebrated, and this funding will help make sure they will be celebrated for years to come.”
